Privacy Policy

• Your audio never leaves your Mac. The App captures and processes audio entirely on your device. We have no servers that receive, store, or stream your audio, and we cannot hear what you run through it.
• No account required. The App works with a license key — there are no usernames, passwords, or profiles.
• We collect only what we need to sell licenses, deliver your key, provide support, and understand how the Site is used.

Information you provide. When you purchase a license, you provide your email address and payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not receive or store your full card number. We retain your email address and license key so we can deliver and support your purchase. If you contact us, we keep your messages and contact details to respond.

Information collected automatically on the Site. When you visit the Site, we and our analytics providers automatically collect limited technical and usage data such as your IP address, browser type, device and operating system, pages viewed, referring URLs, and interactions with the page. We use PostHog and Google Analytics for this. See the Cookie Policy for details on the cookies and similar technologies involved.

Information collected by the App. The App processes audio locally and does not transmit your audio to us. The App contacts our license service only to validate your license key and to check for updates. These requests may include your license key and basic version information, but not your audio or the contents of the apps you capture.

• To process your purchase and deliver your license key.
• To validate license keys and provide software updates.
• To respond to your support requests and communicate with you.
• To understand how the Site is used so we can improve it and measure the effectiveness of our content.
• To protect against fraud and abuse and to comply with our legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers who help us operate, and only as needed:

• Stripe — payment processing.
• Resend — sending license-key and transactional emails.
• PostHog and Google Analytics — website analytics.
• Hosting and infrastructure providers that run the Site and license service.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our Terms of Service, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

We keep purchase and license records for as long as needed to support your license and to meet our legal, accounting, and tax obligations. Analytics data is retained according to our providers’ standard retention periods. You may ask us to delete your information as described below.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email us at [email protected]. You can control cookies and opt out of analytics tracking using the methods described in our Cookie Policy.

The Site and App are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Index Labs is based in the United States. If you access the Site or App from outside the United States, you understand that your information may be processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be made reasonably prominent. Your continued use of the Site or App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
